about

We really wanted to let you know that one way or another everything is going to be okay. The cultures of all our languages adhere to the idea that an elder should be held in reverence. This song starts with a youngsters yearning for healing in the now to sort out his personal and communal problems. As the song progresses there is an answer from the ether that all will be okay the elders have arrived. They ask that the youngster slaughter an offering for his clan as the gods are pleased that they are our gods. The Christian relation to spirituality at times limits our understanding of the gods, the literal translation of Badimo is those who are above us. The refrain of the track asks us to remember that the gods of this land are our gods.

Arihlabeleing baghagesu
(Let us make an offering/slaughter for our clan)
Bari gu’lukile
(They say it’s all going to be okay)
