about

There’s a song that is a saying “Amagugu ale lizwe ayosalemathuneni”, a literal translation is that the material wealth of this world will remain on earth when you pass on. Coming from a generation of unemployed youths who have nothing to do we thought it best to reassert a new idea of where ones troubles remain. The troubles of this unemployed world we find ourselves lockdown to end when you leave your street corner. Take a taxi and travel to the Drill Hall for a start where you might meet like minded individuals. This song is also a homage to Busi Mhlongo’s “Amagugu” off her last album
Amakholwa which is a favourite of ours.

lyrics

Verse
Izaziso zanamhlanje zifundeka kanje (Today’s events are read as follows) Uyacelwa ukuthi ukhanyise
(You are requested to shine the light) Sekhusile nizovukanini na
(The sun has risen when will you wake up) Senivukile sizwe esintsundu
(You are now awake black nation)
Chorus
Amagugu ale lizwe ayo sal’ emakhoneni
(all earthly blessings will remain on your street corner) Emakhoneni bo emakhoneni X2
(at the street corners)
Sal’ emakhoneni sal’ emakhoneni sal‘ emakhoneni sal’ emakhoneni
Amagugu X4
(the troubles)
Ubhuti uyahamba
(the brother is leaving)
